The Challenge
DC International Group Inc. was experiencing problems with a commercial/industrial Reznor warehouse heating system that several HVAC contractors had been unable to repair. The warehouse unit heater had failed, leaving the facility without dependable heat for the winter. Our technicians performed a complete diagnostic evaluation of the commercial warehouse heater and determined that the failure was caused by an obsolete PLC controller. The original control system had been discontinued, making a direct replacement impossible.
Rather than recommending an expensive heater replacement, B.I.M.S. worked directly with Reznor engineering to develop a factory-approved controls retrofit solution for the existing warehouse heating equipment.
Once the retrofit kit was designed and the components became available, our technicians completed the controls upgrade, replacing the obsolete PLC with the new retrofit control package and commissioning the system to ensure proper operation.
